Reading for Life is currently available to schools in NSW, Victoria and New Zealand’s North Island.  We are keen to offer the program throughout Australia and New Zealand, but financial support and volunteers are needed for it to expand.

Reading for Life is designed for primary school children and any primary school in Australia or New Zealand can express interest in the program.

The program requires funding and volunteers. Costs can be viewed by clicking here.

Anyone can fund Reading for Life at a school.  The funding body can be a local business, a club, a school, parents and friends, a trust or foundation or a community organisation.

The program is ideally suited to a team of volunteers from the local areas near a primary school. Volunteers could come from businesses, clubs or community organisations. Volunteers must be able to commit for the duration of one program (between 10 & 15 weeks) for 45 minutes each week during school hours as well as the activities such as initial training, an orientation session with their buddy and an end-of-program party.

Ideally a minimum of 15 volunteers (10 full-time, 5 reserves) are needed to run the program. There is no reason why local schools couldn’t pool together so a group of volunteers can help at two nearby locations and join together for training and support sessions.
