“Every encounter I’ve had with Learning Links has been a positive one. Every time I’ve spoken to any of the health professionals they’ve been wonderful, insightful and willing to help.” Parent of child attending Learning Links
Learning Links is a charity working in partnership with families to help children from birth to 18 who have difficulty learning.
Learning Links helps children by offering a range of services including early childhood intervention; an inclusive preschool for children with and without special needs; comprehensive assessment and consultancy services; small group educational services; occupational and speech therapy; physiotherapy; family counselling; group programs and professional development.
Our approach is family-centred and we work in partnership with families to help them achieve the dreams they have for their children.
One in every five children has some sort of disability or learning difficulty.
For babies and toddlers it may mean they can’t catch a ball as easily as other children, see or hear as well, or perhaps find it hard to walk or crawl.
Older children struggling to learn at school are often overlooked. Many feel frustrated and worthless because they find reading and writing so difficult. Others just need help to catch up after a serious illness such as cancer has left them behind their peers academically and physically.
Without help, children with learning problems will approach adolescence and adulthood with diminished skills to equip them for employment and social interaction. Research points to possible future drug and alcohol abuse, unemployment, homelessness and suicide.
Learning Links gives children the chance to be the best they can be.
