Our experts

Learning Links has highly trained, experienced and committed professionals who support children with diverse additional needs to participate confidently in their community

Our professionals work together to ensure children and their families have access to the most appropriate advice and support for their needs. They include:

  • Counsellors;
  • Early special educators;
  • Early childhood teachers;
  • Occupational therapists;
  • A paediatrician;
  • Physiotherapists;
  • Psychologists;
  • Social workers;
  • Speech pathologists; and
  • Teachers.

Our professionals can take a multidisciplinary or transdisciplinary approach to working with children and families.

A multidisciplinary approach refers to a team of professionals from different disciplines each providing specific services for the child and family to meet their needs.

A transdisciplinary approach refers to a team who works with the child and family where each member ‘wears many hats’ and is able to intervene from the many perspectives of the different disciplines to meet the needs of the child and family. For example, a speech therapist working with a family will have the knowledge to support the child’s occupational therapy needs or support the family through counselling.
